Top Shop - New Site

Top Shop new website is now available. I’ll just speak about the podcasts and the blog and not about the site in general. About podcasting: Top Shop has created a nice site which allows people to download video podcasts about fashion, style… “There’s so much new stuff each week at Topshop that we’ve created a video podcast to help keep you informed about exciting new designs and styles.” I think that this is a nice way of using podcasting because it’s not copying broadcast radio.

Well Top Shop blogging attempt is totally different. The blog is impersonal, there is no human face behind it, and seems also being written like a fashion magazine. They give some credit to other brands (Apple) which could be fine but also being perceived as PR here. To finish, people can’t comment. If the title has been Style Tips with an RSS feed, then fine but don’t pretend blogging (Style Blog) if you’re not willing to engage a conversation with your audience.

    I love your blog too; it remains me when I was living in Lyon in France (My home town). You come up different perspectives than the capital establishment! Well I guess that I am now part of the English establishment !!
