Blue sky day
Yesterday I went to the “Expedia & the National Gallery blue sky day” event to celebrate the longest day of the year. Trafalgar Square was covered with canvasses where people could create their own masterpiece. An edited selection of the work would then be displayed in the National Museum.
It was a lovely event, the place wasn’t fully packed and the overall atmosphere was very enjoyable: good weather (for London!), some nice pieces of art…
It was a good brand experience because Expedia cleverly used their iconic ‘blue & cloud’ on the canvas, without being pushy with other messages. This is an interesting example of a brand having quality time with people. It gives some value and a meaning to the brand and as a result could allow them to develop ‘art’ as a section of their brand molecule.

God, Cake are rinsing out their contacts with the council to keep using Trafalgur Square.
I heard that those who were real artists found the whole idea quite disgusting.
