I really love the two quotes below. They remind us that it is equally important to embrace the change, the uncertain and also that this change as a context and we can learn more about it through history. I guess this is maybe due to my studies in History but no matter which client I am working on, I always feel the need to understand a problem through its historical context. History isn’t static and factual but helps you understand the unknown…
“About forty years ago, in 1970, Roland Barthes was underling a few modern mythologies. However we know that nothing stays the same in our world apart from change itself. Therefore we need to relook at our postmodern mythologies. We have to keep in mind that the essence of a myth is to illuminate the obscure soul of the world!”
Michel Maffesoli
“When you look back at History, at a passed age or as Racine once said: ‘a far-away country’; it gives you some unique perspectives on your time. It allows you to think more deeply about it and ultimately to see the differences and similarities of a problem. It therefore helps you to consider the most adequate solution.”
